Each desktop or notebook or server is run by an Operating System - the low-level software that communicates with the hardware equipment, including peripherals such as a mouse or a printer, as well as any apps that are currently installed on your system. Any program input using a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the Operating System. On a server, every single application runs within the parameters established by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, and so on. This goes for both standard website scripts and server-side software like a media server. If a virtual server is set up on a physical one, there can be two independent Operating Systems, referred to as guest OS and host OS, which means that you'll be able to set up a different software environment on the same machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Web Hosting

Our virtual private server solutions feature three Linux releases which you could select from for the Operating System of your new hosting server - Debian, Ubuntu and CentOS. Apart from being cost-free, the OSs are extremely stable and safe and the main reason to offer all three of them is to make sure that you can run each application that you'd like, since different pieces of software could have different requirements in terms of the environment they can be used on. Each of the three OSs is backed by a huge community of developers who have generated thousands of software packages that you can install and use on your VPS. Depending on the Operating System that you select, you will also be able to choose between three different Control Panels to control your hosting content. Also, should you decide that you need some other OS, we can always reinstall the server with it. As an additional upgrade, we also provide weekly updates of the Operating System for maximum stability and security.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers Hosting

We offer three Operating Systems with our dedicated server plans - CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian. They're all different Linux distributions and we offer them not only because they are freely available and they won't increase the cost of your new web hosting server, but also because they are outstandingly stable and secure. Each of them is backed up by a big community of developers, so you'll be given the option to choose from countless software packages that you can install on your server if the app that you intend to employ has specific requirements. The Operating System will also determine what hosting Control Panel you can use because the Control Panels that we offer run on particular OSs only and because we want to provide you with as much adaptability as possible, we offer multiple OSs and multiple Control Panels. If you get a server with a given OS, we will change it upon request in the event that it turns out that you need another one. We can also keep the OS updated weekly as part of the additional Managed Services upgrade.
